About · Student side
One thread per assignment.
When your kid hits a wall on a specific worksheet, they can ask the question right there on the card. You answer right there. The conversation lives with the work it's about — not in a text thread, not at dinner three days later.
Every assignment card has a small input at the bottom: tap, type a short note, send. The note shows up immediately on the other side — kid → parent or parent → kid — and pops a quiet notification badge so the recipient knows there’s something to look at.
The thread is per-assignment, not per-kid. A question about a math worksheet stays with the math worksheet. Three weeks later when the grade comes back, the conversation is right there for context. No scrolling through a generic family chat looking for “wait, which assignment were we talking about?”
Comments are real-time on both sides. If a parent is in Pearsight when their kid posts, the new message appears without a refresh. If they’re not, the badge waits. Notifications never push outside the app — no email blast, no text — keeping the family conversation inside the family dashboard.
