About · Canvas integration
Every school has its own Canvas URL.
Pearsight asks for it once during setup so it knows where to read assignments from. Five seconds to find — it's already in your browser when your kid is logged into Canvas.
Every school district that runs Canvas gets its own web address — things like district.instructure.com or schools.canvas.net or a custom domain like canvas.lakesideschools.org. Pearsight needs to know which one your family logs into so it can pull assignments from the right place.
The easiest way to find it: open Canvas the way your kid normally does — bookmark, school portal, whatever — then look at the address bar. The part before the first slash is your Canvas URL. Copy that into Pearsight and you’re done.
You only need to do this once per Canvas account. If your kids switch schools, you’ll update the URL alongside the new access token; everything else carries over.
Key facts
- One URL per Canvas account — every kid on that account uses it.
- Paste it as-is; Pearsight strips any path or query string.
- Works with both
*.instructure.comand custom domains. - Updates instantly — no waiting for a sync if you change schools mid-year.
